Tide Gauges: Accurate, Reliable, and Easy to Install

Our tide gauges mount easily on piers, pilings, bulkheads, bridges, marinas, and docks. Choose from two powerful sensor options:

Patented Tilt Sensor
Installed under a gangway between a fixed pier and a floating dock, this sensor measures water levels through the angle of movement — ideal for tidal areas or lakes.

Ultrasonic Sensor System
One or two sensor systems depending on the application. High quality reliable ultrasonic range sensors with one or two integrated sensors for tide or flood monitoring. Two sensors increase the reliability and minimize false readings compared with the single sensor system but both sensors offer excellent performance with built in algoritms to improve accuracy and minimize false readings.

Every system is engineered for easy installation and low‑maintenance service in demanding environments. A tube-based design and clamp system with integrated solar panel allows the installer to very easily orient the panel to face south. All include mounting hardware, are solar‑powered, and connect via cellular network to our Tide Alerts™ Web App.

Sentient Things offers an integrated tide and flood monitoring system for cities and towns. The Tide Alerts web application for cities and towns provides real-time flood levels for emergency management as well as water level and surge data that may be used for coastal surge and flood mitigation. The locations of tide or river gauges and land-based flood gauges is displayed on a map with the flood gauge water levels color coded and labeled to show the level of the flood. Clicking on a particular station shows a chart of flood or tide levels over time. Water levels may be displayed relative to ground level, the tidal mean-lower-low-water or relative to NAVD88 which is the datum used by NOAA and FEMA for flood mapping.

The free Tide Alerts™ Web App brings live water‑level data and NOAA‑technique‑based tidal forecasts right to your fingertips. Accessible from any smartphone, tablet, or computer, it provides a complete, real‑time picture of local conditions.
